Practice Areas

Scott Moore is a dedicated trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience serving communities across Michigan. After earning his law degree from the Detroit College of Law in 1995, he started his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Gladwin County, a role he held until 1999. He continued his public service in Clare County from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2014 to 2016, later stepping into leadership as Director of the Office of the Friend of the Court for the 55th Judicial Circuit.

Between these roles, Scott built a client-focused private practice, helping people through criminal and family law problems. Over the years, he has represented clients in more than half of Michigan’s courts. Always committed to growth, he regularly pursues advanced training to sharpen his trial skills and expand his legal knowledge. He was also one of the first attorneys in the state to successfully use the safe‑harbor provisions of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act—an example of his willingness to embrace emerging areas of law.

Scott is especially respected for his deep understanding of child protection law and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) policy. His advocacy has helped reunite many families while navigating through Child Protective Services investigations, and he takes pride in guiding clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Known for his steady, practical approach, Scott believes that strong negotiation begins with the skills and confidence to succeed in the courtroom.

Beyond his legal work, Scott is committed to supporting his community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Ten16 Recovery Network, an organization whose mission aligns closely with his values.

In his free time, Scott enjoys driving throughout the Great Lakes State, Loons baseball, and enjoying time with his family and their cat, Spot.
